The Austrian software specialist Anna Margotti, who has been commissioned by the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior to develop a program for compiling data on potentially dangerous minority ethnic groups, falls in love with the Turkish Alivi and calligrapher, Hikmet Ayverdi. Through him she becomes acquainted with the traditions and customs of the Alivi, an Anatolian community. But soon, the couple faces insurmountable troubles: cultural gaps and furthermore Anna's mission at the Ministry. One day, Hikmet disappears without a trace. Based on the novel by Barbara Frischmuth, this first feature-length drama from Fabian Eder depicts a tragic love story with political background, performed by tremendous actors.
