Die Bushs

The Bushes

The Bushes are known as real Texans, but they are not. They have their roots in north-east America. Prescott Bush, son of a steel baron from Ohio, married Dorothy Walker in 1921. She was the daughter of a rich New-York banker. This marriage is the beginning of the success story: the political ambitions of the Bushes go hand in hand with the Walkers’ money. George Bush, second son of Prescott's, becomes vice president under Ronald Reagan and in 1988, the 41st President of the U.S.A. The oldest son, George W. Bush, remained in his father’s shadow for a long time. But in 1994 and 1998, he is elected governor of Texas. In 2000, he wins the controversial presidential election. Brother Jeb is also a political heavyweight: in 1998, he becomes governor of Florida. What is more, the next promising candidate of the dynasty is ready to go: George P. Bush, Jeb’s handsome son. The complex picture of a dynasty, its influence and success unrivalled is shaped out of rare archives and statements. The story of how the Bush rose to be the most politically powerful family in America.
