Every year, abandoned buildings of the centre of San Paolo are taken over by an action group of committed citizens. According to a very strict planning, the "movement of the roof-less" undertakes the invasion of these buildings, in the name of the right to a decent place to live, and to fight against the rejection of the poorest populations towards the periphery. Beyond a 48 hours delay, the police has no longer the right to evict them. Then the phase of electrification and of construction of the sanitation begins. Far from being simple squatters, they build true community accommodations. Through several invasions, we follow the destiny of four women embarked within the movement, four women looking forward to restore the dignity every human being should have.
