Four Women in Wars
For Madeleine, Nancy, Margaret and Traudl, five years of war ended on May 8, 1945. Madeleine was a 20-year-old Parisian student; Nancy, a novelist, was the eldest of six sisters of a leading English aristocratic family; Marguerite, a New Yorker, photographed the war as no else could. And Traudl, Hitler’s secretary, remained with the dictator to the bitter end: four women, four lives forged by the ordeals of an unprecedented conflict. Through their viewpoints and experiences, their memories and hopes, we relive the crucial years they survived.
