Democracy@large

Since its accession to independence in 1991, Kyrgyzstan, a former soviet republic, was literally invaded by international agencies. In July 2005, the small village of Togolok Moldo, as the whole country, goes through the last stages of their march towards a market economy and democracy, as the presidential election builds up. Seen from Togolok Moldo and from the capital Bichkek, this roadmap to freedom and prosperity looks more and more like a road to nowhere.
