De Kavijaks
De Kavijaks tells the story of the members of a poor fishing family from Heist-aan-Zee, on the Flemish coast during and immediately after the Second World War. It is a chronicle of mishap and recovery, of conspiring to survive during the German occupation, but it is also about family relations and about growing up, which is at times poignant and harrowing, and at times hilarious. Leading director Stijn Coninx, scriptwriter Marc Didden and Flanders' foremost actors have combined their talents for this truly enthralling five-part mini-series, based on the book of the same name by Jozef Vantorre.
