The Spider Web

From the beginning of the two German states in 1949, the German Democratic Republic (GDR) systematically tried to cover the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) with a spy ring—an estimated number of 6000 agents. The documentary tells the story of Lilli Pöttrich, who was arrested on December 1st 1993. For more than 14 years, the diplomat in the Foreign Ministry of the Federal Republic of Germany worked for the Ministry of State Security of the GDR. The documentary opens an exciting and important chapter of the German history and the Cold War.
