In this screen adaptation of a performance by the dance troupe Holy Body Tattoo, we are plunged into the bizarre world of a dilapidated cabaret that has staunchly resisted the passage of time. From one number to the next, we follow the fate of flamboyant artists whose lives have become indissociable from the performance that now imprisons them: a jealous musician in love with his assistant; a pair of tango dancers and a trio of musicians whose singer, resembling a depraved old clown, is the lover of the magician's assistant. The clichés of cabaret are deliberately deconstructed and the songs, by the British group The Tiger Lilies, punctuate this singular musical, evocative metaphor of relationship between men and women.
