From the 40s to the 60s, I. Bezzerides, alias Buzz, worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood. The screenplay of They Drive by Night, by R. Walsh was based on his novel. He also wrote, among others, On Dangerous Ground, by N. Ray, and the classic film noir Kiss Me Deadly, by R. Aldrich. We meet Buzz, 94 years old, at his neglected house near Los Angeles. He still gets angry about producers, speaks of his collaborations and friendships with Faulkner, Bogart and Mitchum. A vivid portrait of an ordinary person and his contribution to the Hollywood dream factory.
