Brynhild Paulsdatter Størset, more known as Belle Gunness, was born in Selbu in Norway in 1859. As it should turn out, she became one of the greatest female serial killers of all times. It is predicted that she killed somewhere between 40 and 70 people. However, she was never tried or sentenced for any of these crimes. As the net closed in around her, she arranged her own death and disappeared without a trace. The director Anne Berit Vestby is from the same small village in Norway. She follows in the tracks of Belle Gunness from Selbu to Chicago. The story turns out to be wilder, more gruesome than you can imagine...
