Some students of a high school class in Latvia, who graduated in the mid-1980s, have been meeting every year during a period of rapid and dramatic change for their country. They are now in their late 30s and have adjusted to new conditions with varying degrees of success. Throughout the years, their annual, one-night reunions have provided the occasion to look back and perhaps relive the peculiar intensity of being young and on the threshold of "real life.” The film dramatizes one such reunion at a country inn one of them owns. Old passions are rekindled, secrets are revealed, but when the eventful night is over, life can, perhaps, return to routines and everyday illusions.
