Shot in the landscapes of Azerbaijan, in the city of Bakou under reconstruction, Waiting retranscribes a history in the making, from day to day. During a long stroll, the feelings associated with waiting, desire and wishing develop in impressionist touches from their most factual elements to their most intimate implications. Because waiting straightaway recalls youth, passing time and perhaps a certain form of nostalgia, the film explores the multiple unity of every one of us. Projected in the background, part-real, part-fiction, there takes place, in the form of a filmed chronicle, the story of the past love of a man in his prime.
