From the flight of Mario Calderara, the first Italian pilot, to the extraordinary Eurofighter, the European plane of the third millennium, for almost one hundred years men and machines have made Italian wings famous the world over. The film, completely made with the precious archives of the Istituto Luce and Italian Aviation , is the engrossing telling of a story that starts one morning in 1909, on the field of Centocelle, when Calderara takes the first flight on Italian territory leading a Flyer and then unwinds through the entire twentieth century amidst enterprises, failures, records and war.
