The Mountain is a lyrical documentary about 2 families living in close proximity in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil, but at opposite ends of the economic spectrum. It charts their histories and shows how similar they are in their vision of the family. Denilson is a baker earning 100 dollars a month who lives in a house without a proper roof. His daughter dreams to become a ballet dancer. Alexandre is a world class neurosurgeon whose daughter dreams of becoming a football player. For both men there is nothing more important than the realization of their's daughters' dreams. There is a tremendous gap between what they live but their hope is that the children will together make a better future.
