Europe's Eastern Border
On May 1, 2004, the Eastern border of the European Union has been moved to the east, Poland thus became the gatekeeper of the enlarged Union watching over the border with Russia (the enclave of Kaliningrad), Lithuania, Belorussia and Ukraine. The film’s director takes us on a journey along this new border, from north to south, meeting cross-border workers, Polish border guards, former Greek refugees, an independent community or a Chechen family on their way to France… Unexpected portraits of men and women who have been scattered across the lands by the wilful winds of history.
