A Bus Ride and Flowers in Her Hair
This film charts the first moments of the coming of age of a young boy - the tentative first steps towards an appreciation of the opposite sex and the growing awareness that there's more to life than a stray dog and a fly in a bottle. The film's imagery is both particular and universal, evoking a lost innocence and a distant event that will hopefully stir similar memories in the audience. Asaf Agranat paints a picture of how childish things are put away as a glimpse of the future is afforded to those who are ready to start a new journey and take the chance to see the world in a new way. A thoughtful work, it has won the Scottish BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film.
