Walata
Mauritania harbors many treasures, among them the magical city of Walata. Located some 600 miles from the capital city of Nouakchott, you can only get there in a 4x4 on a road through the Sahel desert. An extraordinary city located in southeastern Mauritania near the Malian border, Walata stands out in a country traditionally inhabited by nomads.
