Un voyage chez les WoodabésA Visit with the Wodaabe
The Wodaabe, Peuls of southern Chad, are among Africa’s last remaining nomadic people. Thus, all year long, they lead their herds in search of pasture lands, never remaining for than three days in one spot. Around July, for the animal markets, the Wodaabe gather for the Worso celebration. During this rather unusual ceremony, every male of marrying age dresses in his best attire and presents himself to the women, who choose their husbands. Through this Worso ceremony, I propose to show you the life style and daily life of a people in exile.
