Robert Guediguian, cinéaste
In film after film, and for more than two decades now, Robert Guédiguian has fashioned a social chronicle of the working class world of his childhood. This documentary looks at his 20 years in filmmaking, and his daily life and collaboration with his faithful friends: Ariane Ascaride, Gérard Meylan, Jacques Boudet, Jean-Pierre Darroussin, shot in the very locations where he set a dozen of his films: Marseille and most of all the city’s Estaque district. Enjoying a complicity with the members of the group, this film interweaves documentary reality and scenes from his films, which are like so many flashbacks of their real life.
