Over a single night in their small suburban home, widow Helen, 62, and her only child, George, 34, play out a volatile family rituel as they struggle with the intensity and intimacy of their co-dependent lives. George wants to go out for the night but his mother, lonely and terrified of a life spent alone, wants him to stay. George’s decision should be simple – whether to go out for the evening or stay and keep his mother company, again. But before George can leave he must first deal with the unresolved emotional issues and history he shares with his mother – and her ability to take advantage of both.
