Israeli Amnon Lipkin-Shahak and Palestinian Hani El Hassan are veterans of the secret wars. Both directed intelligence services, both were ministers. In all likelihood they may soon be called up to top posts. Their parallel careers reflect the destiny of two peoples in conflict. They crossed paths twice with guns in their hands during historic battles of the Israelo-Palestinian wars. Though it took some doing, we brought them together. Caught between dialogue and resentment, between listening and polemics, they compare and contrast their visions of the conflict and together discuss possible ways in resolving it.
