Marionnettiste
The story of the Guignol puppet theatre in the Champ de Mars, created by Luigi Tirelli nearly 40 years ago. The puppeteer tells how the sets and costumes are made, based as they are on precise historical documentation and the Commedia del’Arte. He also shows how the plays are performed to enchant the children. His commentary is illustrated by archive documents, recorded scenes from plays and footage of the troupe today. We also go backstage to learn the secrets of puppeteering. Thanks to the dedicated members of the troupe, of whom the youngest is 10 years old, the tradition and magic of the place, made possible by Tirelli’s singular imagination, endure.
