This story is freely inspired by a true case of infanticide that shook Poland in recent years. Lucja lives in the countryside with her husband Jacek, their three children and her in-laws. They just barely make ends meet on Jacek’s wages. At the farm, Lucja does all the domestic chores but is stuck between her alcoholic husband and her ill-tempered mother-in-law who is always on her back. When she learns that she is again pregnant, her life seems to turn upside-down.
