Los Guardianes del Angel
The character of Angel guides us on a journey of moods, anecdotes, emblematic locations, music and dance. The film is essentially a tribute to Anibal Troilo, the great bandoneon player and tango composer. It includes testimonies, musical interludes, the dances of Juan Carlos Lopez and Julio Bocca, and the omnipresence of soccer. Raúl Garello, Osvaldo Piro, Horacio Ferrer, Tito Reyes, Rubén Juárez, Walter Ríos and José Gobello, all friends or acquaintances of the musician, are among who talk about Troilo. In this journey back in time, we also meet Astor Piazzola. The character of Angel ventures through the city and picks up the different threads of the narrative. We have here a living work that throbs from the heart of “tanguero”, nocturnal Buenos Aires.
