An unusual portrait of an unusual judge, Gilbert Thiel, first examining magistrate at the anti-terrorism section of the Palais de Justice in Paris, author of an act of faith that created a sensation, On ne réveille pas un juge qui dort (Don’t Wake a Sleeping Judge). A bon vivant with an indestructible sense of humor, Thiel comes to terms with his lucidity and his dreams of a better world. Thiel decided to share his confidences with veteran documentary filmmaker Christophe de Ponfilly. The filming lasted a year-and-a-half.
