Le Voile qui cache la forêt

They are Muslim women and live in Lyons, Paris and Marseilles. When they came to France they believed that they too had a right to equality and republican principles. But then, one day, they were stunned to learn that the law of their native land, Algeria, had followed them to French soil. All it took was for their husbands to take a brief trip back to Algeria for them to be repudiated, deprived of parental authority and almost financial means. And the French courts couldn’t do anything for them.
