Le Petit Jean-Pierre, le grand PerreaultJean-Pierre Perreault - Giant Steps
Jean-Pierre Perreault was a choreographer who said that he didn't like dance. His unique vision has left an indelible mark on his art. Inspired by the real world, the exceptional creator of Joe wanted his choreographies to mirror life, and for ordinary audiences to be able to recognize themselves in his creations. Attentive to the beat of the world around him, he re-invented sound dance, with the on-stage stamping boots of “faceless masses”. But what about Perreault himself? Where is he visible in his works, with their focus on the human condition? Jean-Pierre Perreault - Giant Steps delves into the childhood and adult experience of this major creator, in search of the sources of the choreographer's highly personal, intimate yet collective works.
