The Last Godfather

Can a man possibly live in hiding on an island for the some 40 years, hunted by more than 400 policemen, and continue to be the supreme chief of the Cosa Nostra? Bernardo Provenzano runs the criminal organization that has been responsible for the deaths of magistrates, politicians, police officers and civilians. The “pentito” claim he is alive and well, that he never left Sicily. The film takes a fresh look at the Mafia. Provenzano’s crimes have amassed great wealth over 30 years, but has never enjoyed any of it. So why 30 years in a life of crime? These questions become a lesson to those who might be attracted to organized crime. They also provide a retort to all those who still believe in the myth of the Mafia.
