I have always been fascinated by the legends about the Silk Route. After reading a lot of books, I began to take a closer look at humanity’s first trade route. Gradually, I discovered great civilizations but great atrocities as well, wars that laid waste to cities and entire countries. This series is not the work of an historian but rather a series of chronicles and observations I made during my trips to those faraway lands. It adopts a cinematic approach in which the dialogue merely serves to guide us through the images. It’s an original conception inspired by various narratives. I hope I have brought something new to this Route that has known so much glory and so much human suffering.
