Six puppeteers and their doubles, around the world. This film was shot in France, Japan, Germany, England and Georgia. It takes us into the poetic universe of six of the world’s top puppet theater artists. This microcosm has little to do with the Guignol theater and other cliché images we have about the world of puppets. The people we meet here work with split personalities, the projection of the Other through oneself. No one knows in advance where a puppet will go. But it was just this curiosity that united them, the puppet-masters, the curiosity of knowing just where their creatures will take them. Just like we get up at night in the dark, not knowing if the noise that has awakened us came from our dreams or from the outside world.
