Koursk, a Submarine in Troubled Waters

In 2002, the Russian nuclear submarine, the Kursk, sank with all hands in the Barents Sea. Despite the official version — the accidental explosion of an old torpedo —, the true reasons for this tragedy have never been revealed. Four years later, after a long investigation, this film finally brings to light the facts that accuse the total involvement of the United States in this catastrophe. The secrets surrounding this tragedy also forced the new president, Vladimir Putin, to reveal his political hand: his methodical rise to power as well as the setting up of his military, diplomatic and economic strategies to give Russia the stature the USSR used to have, are closely linked to the events concerning the Kursk.
