"Johnny Depp, my Friend"

Things have gotten worse in Cjejani, Romania, since the death of the oldest musician, the violinist Nicolae Neacsu. The young musicians have no work, no festivities to play at and knock about, aimless and depressed. Between drugs and the hope of going to the West, they have only one road ahead of them. “Life is a bummer, one day you’re merry, one day you’re sad". Marius picks up his accordion and plays some gypsy blues to dispel his gloomy thoughts and attract some good looking chicks, and, who know, even Johnny Depp, who is supposed to have promised to come here to baptize his latest child. Money — earned, stolen, borrowed or swapped — is the only way to fool fate, which has it in for the small gypsy community. And to get away, some of them will stop at nothing.
