Gina Pellón
The making of a painting by Gina Pellón relating to the city of Paris. This film is part of a series of shorts about painting: each follows the gestation of a painting by centering on the artist’s relationship between his or her life as an exile and the memory of home, Cuba. What Ricardo Vega has invented has nothing to do with any other artistic expression. Unlike critics and essayists who hide behind words, he dares to penetrate the territory of artists and deploy their own weapons: light, color, form. But this is not a invasion or a rivalry; everything has to do with the rhythm of the images, the music that comes with it and which, in a fascinating absence of words, reveals the essence of a creative process.
