From the Inside Out
This story is a story full of myths. Myths full of mystery, of strange entities, of ancestral trees forming rivers, of the women spirits planting themselves as cultivated food and of war between men and fish people. What if all this is true? This story leads us into the reality of jaguar people, of anaconda people, like the Yukuna and Tanimuka people of the Colombian Amazon name themselves. It is a voyage through the living myths that are the fundament of their daily life. Rick Harlow, a painter, has travelled in this region since the early eighties, in search of inspiration, looking for himself. He got sick, confused, helpless, amazed and accepted. In these years Harlow made extraordinary paintings with a view on jungle life From The Inside Out.
