Forbidden Forest

Six multi-national corportations control all cutting on the Crown lands of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. Most of that cutting is clearcut, with all trees removed. In this film, we meet two men from very different backgrounds, united by a passion to save the forest and bring some of New Brunswick’s Crown lands under community control. Together, they travel to Finland –home of UPM-Kymmene, the larger leaseholder of New Brunswick Crown lands- to urge company officials to practise responsible forestry. Forbidden Forest is a tale of corporate greed, lax government oversight, and people passionate about places they love.
