Flight of Eagle Spirit
A portrait of Larrio Ekson, dancer and choreographer at the Paris Opera. Descended from the American Indians, he made his debut in Harlem at the age of 18. His talents quickly caught the attention of the avant-garde theater world, and he acted with La Mama Theatre and the Living Theater. A dancer for Maurice Bejart then Roland Petit, he went on to become the masculine double of Carolyn Carlson. This documentary retraces his career and includes interviews with such personalities as La Mama director Ellen Stewart and Martha Clarke, as well as scenes from ballets with Carolyn Carlson and Agnès Letestu, star dancer at the Paris Opera.
