Dialogues' 99/II
The interaction between dance and architecture is an ongoing concern in the work of renowned German choreographer Sasha Waltz. In June 1999, more than a year before its official opening, she staged Dialogues'99/II in the Jewish Museum‘s empty building shell. Throughout the performance both the dancers and the audience moved around the building, engaging them with the dramatic volumes and spaces created by Daniel Libeskind. The legendary performance could only be viewed by a small audience, now finally the film offers the opportunity to see this unique event. The result is a documentation that the translated metaphors of Libeskind’s architecture appeared as if of real flesh and blood.
