The ambitious bank manager Bannier is preparing the 100th anniversary of his village bank. Some last minute problems have to be addressed: the speech isn't ready, neither are decorations, the new automatic teller causes power failures, as does his loquacious spouse (in a sense), and the voodoo spell doesn't seem to go away either. It's the end of a career closely observed by Anton Tchekov and adapted to a short film in memory of the 100th anniversary of the Russian author's death.
