Au Rwanda on dit... la famille qui ne parle pas meurtIn Rwanda We Say... the Family That Doesn't Speak Dies
Ten years after the 1994 genocide, when 800,000 Tutsis were slaughtered in a mere three months’ time, and after her previous documentary, Gacaca, revivre ensemble au Rwanda, Anne Aghion continues the chronicle about the efforts in favor of ethnic reconciliation in Rwanda. This documentary is set in 2003, when the government released 16,000 Hutu prisoners who had confessed to their crimes. We follow one man in particular as he returns to his village and must live among neighbors who accused him. Will these people be able to overcome their trauma, hatred and scarred psyches to rebuild a common future together?
