9e Symphonie de Beethoven

Beethoven's 9th Symphony

Recording for television a work as famous as this, one that has been recorded so often, is a gamble. This film takes a new tack on filming this work. The director this time wanted to emphasize the instruments and the players, distinguish the different parts of the orchestra and the various musical ambiances of each movement in the symphony. He sets out to make the audience share in the life of an orchestra, show the bonds that exist between musicians and chorus, conductor and chorus, and reveal the effort as well as the joy each of the protagonists can feel in performing such a work.
