TV_Slum
Njoroge is 23 years old, he sleeps in the dump site and tries to earn some money to go visit his father. Kiki, a former Tae Kwon Do champion, dreams to rehabilitate street kids through the discipline of martial Arts. Mama Wangotho rears pigs and daily feeds a bunch of hungry and homeless kids. TV_Slum is a documentary entirely shot by eight street kids after three months of training in the Nairobi’s slum of Kawangware. A multitude of faces are framed, telling the epic of street life, the hope and the injustice of their existence. In their hands the video camera is not only a way to disclose reality but becomes an instrument of redemption.
