The Atwood Stories: Polarities

An emotionally reserved university teacher in his 30's arrives from the U.S to teach in a small university town in the Canadian north. He engages in a guarded, undefined relationship with an intense female graduate student who inhabits an idiosyncratic but functional reality. As her state of mind becomes more extreme, their involvment moves from disengagement, through an emotional opening up and finally into moral compromise and a sad and subtle betrayal. A dramatic anthology series of six half-hour episodes based on the short stories of Margaret Atwood. The title Betty is in Competition, Short programs.
