Sabah et les Bobos
One night in December 2002, Sabah M., a Moroccan woman, decided to put an end to a married life full of insults, beatings and rape. She ended up in the street with her four girls, aged 16 months to seven. Then came three weeks of wandering until the social services, overwhelmed with work due to the cold wave, ran out of solutions for her. Contacted by the school principal, a PTA representative agreed to temporarily take in the family. The cold wave continued, the social services knew the family was housed, the solution seemed far and the cohabitation lasted, seriously upsetting the quiet life of the host family. Finding an apartment for Sabah and her girls thus became the critical combat of two families. Veronique accompanied Sabah through the maze of institutions. As her profession is filmmaking, she brought along her camera.
