Rondon: Amor, ordem e progresso
The explorer Marechal Cândido Mariano da Silva Rondon is one of the most exceptional Brazilians who ever lived. He is the descendant of the original Brazilians, the Indians, to whom he devoted his life. In so doing he coined, in the spirit of the Positivist philosophy that he embraced like a religion, the famous phrase that summed up his attitude towards them: "Die, if need be; kill, never." This documentary is about the life and work of this precursor of the environmentalist movement. It combines great historical and visual resources to recall the work and life of Rondon.
