Pas de deux
Diana, a well-kept lady of sixty-eight, has arranged everything perfectly in her life. The only disturbance is a strange old man, who lives on the other side of the courtyard. He has taken up a habit of waving to her when he sees her sitting on her balcony. Although Diana thinks this behaviour obtrusive, she starts to be interested more and more in this "weird fellow" called Max. She secretly watches him with her opera glasses in the evening as he dances about in his flat. She starts to get involved with him and is more and more pulled out of her everyday life into a new life that, according to Max, can only be lived once and therefore has to be enjoyed. The dream of complete freedom, that Diana does not really dare to dream is really Diana's inner border, that Max crosses.
