In a small country town, Jozef Struziak, the local veterinarian, is bored with his wife Anna and her passion for classical ballet. He, however, is romantically involved with the local beauty, whom he sees in his office. One day, Wiktor Mamec, a medical student, comes to practice with the vet. The boy is shy and cannot even turn down a dance with Anna, who thinks he has a talent for dance. This suits the vet, who uses it as an excuse to go meet his lover.
