Oradour, retour sur un massacre
Around 2 p.m. on June 10, 1944, a company of Waffen SS with the second armored division, “Das Reich,” entered a village in the Haute-Vienne near Limoges: Oradour-sur-Glane. A few hours later, the village was systematically destroyed, plundered, burned, and a good part of the population massacred. Thanks to rare archival documents and French and German court sources, the film shows how the massacre was not fortuitous. Premeditated and prepared with the help of French collaborators, this act of mass murder was carried out on orders.
