My Friend, my Enemy
Summer 2000, Denver City, Colorado. A group of youths from Denver, Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are taking part in a camp for peace for 21 days in the mountains of Colorado. During their time here, they forge bonds of friendship and dispense with their preconceived ideas. Autumn 2002: start of the second Intifada. In Tel Aviv, Ameera, a 17-year-old Palestinian girl who attended the camp, is sentenced to two years in prison. She’s been accused of maintaining relations with a terrorist organization. Today, in the heart of the Intifada, the friends she made at camp are fighting against prejudices, hatred and incomprehension in order to get together in her support. But the teachings about peace and tolerance are hard to put into action. Despite the pain and the wounds, will Ameera’s cause be great enough to bring them all together in solidarity?
