Mozambique, journal d'une indépendance
The first cultural decision taken by the government of Mozambique, right after independence in 1975, was to create the National Cinema Institute (INC). The new president, Samora Machel, was fully aware of the power of the moving image and the way it could be used to build a new socialist nation. The mobile cinema units would show the entire country the most popular production of the INC, the film journal Kuxa Kanema (literally, "birth of the cinema").Its aim was to record the image of the people and show it to the people.
