For the planned inauguration of the monument in memory of the resistance fighters and hostages shot at Mont Valérien, this documentary attempts to explain, 60 years later, who died behind those high walls. The project for a monument, initiated by Robert Badinter in 1997, gives names on those who died for France. Resistance members and hostages of different political, religious and national backgrounds were shot here for their anti-Nazi activities. There were famous figures but also unknown combatants and hostages whose names would otherwise be forgotten.
